How adorable are these bottles!?! Alischia sends them each out with hand tied bows and custom (polish name) labels. And I know they must be hand tied, because I untied one by mistake, and was too clumsy to get it tied nicely again On top of the lovely packaging, she sent along cuticle oil along with the polishes, and it’s actually good! I am continually paying hiked up prices on store bought cuticle oil with none working – so, what a pleasant surprise

Nice smooth consistency for easy application . While there are tons of bits and pieces of glittery goodies, I did not have any difficulty smoothing out everything with a top coat. There were no pieces that had curled or gone wonky – which is rare when you have the variety of glitter shapes. As I am completely obsessed with all things blue (especially nail polish) so I loved that I could wear one of my favorite blue holo polishes under “Save the Bows” without it looking out of place. Quite often I find clear glitter polishes only look great over black – “Save the Bows” seems to look great over anything !

Except for the fact that I am utterly in love with this polish – there isn’t much to say Nicely pigmented, so only two coats were needed, and the touch of added multi color shreds was awesome. Again….no curling, nothing poking out. I didn’t really need a top coat, but I am so used to using one, that I have one think layer of Seche Vite on top.

Ohhh, I wish I didn’t have any complaints, but just a little teeny weeny problems with “High Maintenance”. Alischia chose some great glitters, but I always have problems with the polishes that contain larger glitter pieces. So, this is probably more user error, than polish error What I always end up doing, is dragging most of the big glitters into one area (not intentionally) and they get stuck and I can’t spread them around smoothly.

What I ended up doing – was stealing one of the really flat brushes from another brand of polish (Nina brand I think – purchased at Sally’s. Great brush! Polish…mehhh)….cleaned the brush up, and used it in High Maintenance, and it helped to spread the glitters out without much moving them around. Voila!

Thanks for looking at my shop! I love making polishes, as you can tell:) I have so many that I am sharing. I really enjoy doing this and you all have been just lovely to work with:)

We all have different tastes in polishes, I hope there is something here for everyone. I do take pride in putting out a quality product and if something is not to your liking I hope you will bring it to my attention.

My glittery polishes are for the most part full of glitter, some by design are more scant. Those that have a large amount of glitter may be a bit more thick. This is because I am using uncut suspension base. I do not personally mind a thicker base if it keeps my glitter suspended however I do realize that some of you may prefer a thinner polish. In that case a few drops of thinner work quite well.

Unfortunately because I do not own a lab or a super sized kitchen:) Some of the polishes may vary between editions. I make polishes in liter batches. I will try to state in listings if it has been reformulated. This may include squares vs hexes in some cases. If you are EVER unsatisfied please let me know and allow me to make it right. To me, its a privilege you allow me by purchasing my polishes and letting them adorn your fingers. I never forget that and I thank you.

Please if you have an issue with a polish DO NOT message me on Facebook. I often forget about those messages and do not respond in a timely manner. Etsy messaging is the best way to let me know about issues. I monitor Etsy messages at least daily.

I do sometimes use larger stainless steel ball bearings in my polish bottles so please shake to mix with care. Best option is to roll to mix:) Vigorous shaking may result in a broken bottle. Who wants to deal with that?

My polishes may contain the following ingredients:

Glitter, Mica, Aluminum,

Some bases may contain: Nitrocelluose, Ethyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate, Succinic Acid, Alkyd Resin, Sucrosse Acetate, Isobutyrate, Isopropyl Alcohol, di-Camphor, Stearalkonium Hectorite, 2,4 Hihydroxy Benzophenone, Ethyl Acetate, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol/Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Acrylates Copolymer, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Silica, Alumina, Benzophenone-1, Trimethylpentanediyl Dibenzoate

To my knowledge my ingredients are not tested on animals. I have verified this with my suppliers. I find that practice DETESTABLE and if aware will not use their products.

My apologies for the lack of information provided. For some reason I had quite a few application difficulties, so I won’t bore you with the details. When I ordered these – the photos were great – so it’s possible to have them look good! Just not so much by me

Very cool looking and totally unique florescent glitter in this clear polish. Unfortunately, I did have some applications mishaps with the glitter placement. They were either layering on each other or poking up, so rearranging them was difficult.

“Electric Sex” over black

“Electric Sex” has a black/grey jelly base, with tons of gold holo glitter. Every type you could imagine Hex, bars, squares. Just my type of polish! I had no problems with this polish other than the bars, but they can be a pain in the you know what in any polish they are in.

This polish even has a sweet fudge smell (I had to confirm this with the owner – in case I was just going crazy lol) Totally clear base, with mainly brown, copper and gold glitter – but, just a few blue, red and green thrown in for fun.

I think I just realized (d’uh) why I was having the application problems! Nothing in these polishes are anything that would normally be a pain applying – but I just remembered seeing in the notes on Darling Diva’s website about the thick base she uses when creating the polish. So, I bet if I had added a few drops of polish thinner it would make the polish a bit more “Louise user friendly”

Final comments: if you see the amount of sales on her etsy site, you know her polishes must be something special – so the problems I had are most likely an isolated incident, or user error Check her out! Darling Diva Polish

I am an animal lover, I have 2 cats that I adore. I keep 3 aquariums plus an outdoor pond. I was born and raised in Vermont, and currently live on the east coast of Florida. I practice yoga, and aside from making nail polish I also love to make beaded jewelry, crochet and sew.
I named my polish brand after my first cat, Kunimitsu. She was a beautiful gray kitty with a white star on her chest and sadly she had to go to heaven last year. I have two polishes that were made in her honor – ‘Kunimitsu’ and ‘Interpretation of a pixelated Kunimitsu’.
I love to make custom polishes that represent something special, a loved pet, family member, life events. Custom polishes take about 7-10 days to collaborate and create once I can focus on that custom request. (At times I have several requests and there may be a short waiting period). Customs are full size only and standard rates apply. I do not make ‘dupes’ of other polishes, whether commercial or other indie polishes.

Onto the polishes!

I must admit that I wasn’t sure what I was going to think about the polishes Jessica sent me – beautifully labeled and interesting shaped bottles, but I was a little iffy when I saw the colors from the outside of the bottle.

Such ….rarely seen…..combinations, but once I had them polished on my nails – I was thoroughly impressed! In fact, the only one I knew for a fact I would LOVE was “Nubian Princess” – but ask me again now, and I have no favorite…..actually, I suppose I could say that they are all my favorite of the polishes I have tried from Kunimitsu . Beautiful with smooth application and great color with two coats.

Great pigment for two coat coverage. Just enough of the 2 (or 3) sized orange hex shaped glitters, so you don’t have to worry about the bumpy gritty feeling that some glitter polishes have. But enough that after two coats, the glitter has spread evenly.

I NEVER would have considered these colors together, and I just love it! The contrast between the blue and orange that she chose are fantastic

No doubt this was going to be one of my favs Pink (maybe), purple, gold and white and something holographic (I think it’s the tiny square gold glitters). I suppose you could do two coats for more of a full coverage, but I don’t think you would be able to see all of the details if you were to do that, so my choice was one coat. And next time it will be over black! Ohhhh that is going to be NICE!

Where do I start with this? As odd as it sounds to use this as a descriptive for a nail polish – this polish is gentle looking. A soft creamy looking polish and the glitters are so subtle – it’s almost like a little bit of pepper in the polish with some small fuchsia glitters. None of that sounds complimentary….sorry

Ok, here is a great compliment ….. I wore this polish for an entire weekend I loved it so much! You polish fanatics know what I’m talking about!

Can a polish look yummy? Because Bananas Foster does From the description on the listing, you will find yellow matte glitter with metallic caramel, brown, and gold glitters. Yes, that is yummy sounding. And as you can see from the photos, no bumpiness! Just one layer of topcoat. Always a plus with glitter bomb polishes

I officially started selling polishes last March, and am still having a lot of fun with the creative aspect of it (I think I now have a glitter addiction to go along with my polish problem! ) I’ve loved nail polish since I was little, and have been collecting for over 10 years now. I dabbled with frankening off and on, before I even knew there was a term for it, and started researching and mixing polishes using raw ingredients in the fall of 2011. I was hooked and haven’t stopped since! It’s a weird craft, in that you have to be very precise in measuring and testing, but also allows you to be as wild as you want in using colors and textures.

I always feel honored when someone supports my brand, or comments they like a polish I made, it’s so gratifying that someone out there gets me! I love vibrant colors, even wacky combinations with glitz and glam, and I’m so happy to have stumbled in to polish making. I feel like life can be a drag sometimes, so why not have fun when you can?

If you haven’t seen it? Go! It’s probably free somewhere online Late 80′s flick – not cheesy like most 80′s movies a fun romantic classic.

The nail polish….not romantic But FUN! Tons of glitz and glitter, but also a really neat polish that allows for the color of the “underwear” to show through – many, many looks available depending what you wear under this one.

My choice was to wear only one coat of Kaleidoscope over the nude polish – but I think you could easily wear two coats without it looking like too much. Mainly blue matte glitters (I adore blue!) and a few scattered micro glitters, make this polish a great mixture without being too much. I love it

Extreme Palpitations over pink holographic polish

At first, looking at the bottle – I would say it’s a pink glitter polish. The closer you look though, there are sooo many colors that blend well together. In fact, I had to go directly to the source to find out everything in this polish! As per the description, the glitters included are: fuchsia, purple, black, lavender, white, purple disco, and garnet glitters. It also says it’s in a black jelly base, but my bottle had a clear base. Anyways! Either way it comes out of the bottle, it looks great – and I am not a fan of pink at all, but this is great!

I’ve been wearing nail polish pretty much every day for the last 20 or so years. I’ve been creating my own “frankens” without even realizing it was a thing, I just did it out of necessity. Then one day i went to buy soap making supplies, and there it was, the most amazing, beautiful, heart stopping thing I’d ever seen… NAIL POLISH BASE! In a big bottle, just waiting to be messed with. I picked it up, along with a buttload of mica and various glitter, and there funkblend was born. Then I discovered etsy, and found I could share my creations with an entire community of like-minded polish addicts! I spend much more money on supplies on etsy than I could ever make, but I get so much enjoyment out of my creations, I’d almost do it for free! I love the planning process, the mixing and experimenting, and not everything makes it to production. I have a large reject pile that I either save for further experiments, give away to friends, or I simply dump out and start over.

My fingers are constantly different colours on a daily basis as of late, I have fake nails I test on, but nothing beats a good daily wear on real nails to test a polish. If a polish doesn’t past the wear test, back to the drawing board it goes. I’ll often tweak a formula after wearing it for a day, sometimes the shade is a bit off of what I wanted, or the glitter lays funky and needs some rework. It’s a fun process, it satisfies the scientist that lives deep inside my brain. I have a fairly uncreative desk job by day and this gives me an outlet to do what I really like to do, mess with colour and make pretty things.

Erin sent me these polishes when she was still getting herself settled into her store and finding that perfect name for her brand….so, I must admit to not knowing *for sure* the names of the polishes she sent me, so I hope she makes correction comments if I name any of them wrong

Though I will never ever get bored with glitter polishes, I do love the great combinations of iridescent or color shifting polishes that indie makers come up with. Black Sheep Lacquer is the place to go for those!

But as I said, I will never get bored of glitter, so here is one the few she carries in her line

This is an amazing mix of colored glitters. I actually think there are only 3 colors, but I just LOVE the way the brown and blue go together! It isn’t a full coverage glitter polish, but there is enough glitter to give a nice amount of glitter in just one coat.

Alright, so I mentioned that Black Sheep Lacquer isn’t big with their glitter polishes…..No wonder! Erin creates some of the nicest looking “non glitter” polishes I have come across! And here is one of them:
