Welcome to Lush Lacquer!!!!! Yipee…we finally got our shop open! We are a mother/daughter “BEST FRIEND” team who LOVES to create polish! My name is Karin and my daughter is Lexi. Lexi is a professional nail artist who does parties for adults/kids and paints designs on all of their nails. How adorable are these bottles!?! Alischia sends them each out with hand tied bows and custom (polish name) labels. And I know they must be hand tied, because I untied one by mistake, and was too clumsy to get it tied nicely again On top of the lovely packaging, she sent along cuticle oil along with the polishes, and it’s actually good! I am continually paying hiked up prices on store bought cuticle oil with none working – so, what a pleasant surprise

Nice smooth consistency for easy application . While there are tons of bits and pieces of glittery goodies, I did not have any difficulty smoothing out everything with a top coat. There were no pieces that had curled or gone wonky – which is rare when you have the variety of glitter shapes. As I am completely obsessed with all things blue (especially nail polish) so I loved that I could wear one of my favorite blue holo polishes under “Save the Bows” without it looking out of place. Quite often I find clear glitter polishes only look great over black – “Save the Bows” seems to look great over anything !

Except for the fact that I am utterly in love with this polish – there isn’t much to say Nicely pigmented, so only two coats were needed, and the touch of added multi color shreds was awesome. Again….no curling, nothing poking out. I didn’t really need a top coat, but I am so used to using one, that I have one think layer of Seche Vite on top.

Ohhh, I wish I didn’t have any complaints, but just a little teeny weeny problems with “High Maintenance”. Alischia chose some great glitters, but I always have problems with the polishes that contain larger glitter pieces. So, this is probably more user error, than polish error 
What I always end up doing, is dragging most of the big glitters into one area (not intentionally) and they get stuck and I can’t spread them around smoothly.
What I ended up doing – was stealing one of the really flat brushes from another brand of polish (Nina brand I think – purchased at Sally’s. Great brush! Polish…mehhh)….cleaned the brush up, and used it in High Maintenance, and it helped to spread the glitters out without much moving them around. Voila!

I am a father of a three year old girl. She loves princesses, Dora the Explorer, Doc McStuffins and drawing pictures for people. Her favorite foods are peanut butter and jelly, cheese and pistachios.
With Easter coming up my little boy and me both get excited at the thought of waking up and finding out what the Easter Bunny has brought us. But the other day we were inside a supermarket when a large green Easter bunny stopped me and little boy and gave him an egg, (not me the old skinflint) all well and good you say, but upon exiting that supermarket and heading into the high street a pink Easter Bunny decided to give my little one another egg.

Hi polished people!
Sabrina (a.k.a. Polish Alcoholic) -here to share with you, my latest creation. How sweet that Louise has dedicated a little spot to me on her lovely blog!
Basically, this is a re-creation of the mosaic manicure I did a while back. This is the soft/pastel version though. Sadly this isn’t as clear as the other version (blame my annoying tremor), but I like the final result.
(edit to add from Louise: your “not as good” manicures, are better than most of our “turned out fantastic” manicures! LOL You have a magic touch girl!)
I used a medium striper and several soft polishes:
Purity by Zoya;
Blu by Zoya;
Tart-y For The Party by China Glaze;
Keep Calm, Paint On by China Glaze;
Trout Pout by Butter London;
Jasper by Butter London.
Here’s a step by step guide of how I created this design:
1. Start with a white base. I used Zoya’s Purity.
2, 3, 4, 5. Create random stripes by using a medium striper and a soft green/soft yellow polish. I like to create different patterns on each nail. Make sure you’ll get 8 spaces to fill in later.
6. Fill in two random spaces with a corally pink polish.
7. Fill in two random spaces with a soft yellow polish.
8. Fill in two random spaces with a soft blue polish.
9. Fill in the last two spaces with a light purple polish, allow the design to dry completely (to prevent ‘dragging’ with top coat, and finish with your favorite top coat (Seche Vite).
